What’s Next for Fishermans Bend?
Fishermans Bend Property & Industry Briefing
When: Tuesday 15 October, 4 to 6pm
Where: CBCo Brewery, 89 Bertie Street, Port Melbourne
This event will bring together property owners, leading consultants and key industry representatives for an exclusive, important and informative update on the status of key projects in Fishermans Bend and plans for the near future.
Speakers will focus on what lies ahead for the next 3-5 years, with presentations and panel input from the Victorian Government’s Fishermans Bend Taskforce, the Fishermans Bend Innovation Precinct delivery team, the University of Melbourne, FB IDEAs, and the Fishermans Bend Business Forum.
Event Background:
By 2050, an area three times the size of Melbourne’s CBD will transition to become home to 80,000 residents, a place of work for up to 80,000 people and host more than 20,000 tertiary students. As Australia’s largest urban renewal project, found in the heart of Melbourne, the ambition for Fishermans Bend is bold and visionary, with innovation vital to realising its full potential.
But 2050 is a while away… Many want to know “what is next for Fishermans Bend”? What decisions, actions and outcomes will shape and influence the evolution of the precinct within the next 3-5 years?
This event is designed to answer these exact questions – to ensure all who are already invested in the future of Fishermans Bend are informed and engaged in what is happening on the ground, right now.
We’ll have presentations from government representatives to provide an update on the Fishermans Bend Urban Renewal program, the future Fisherman Bend Innovation Precinct (found on the former GM Holden site) and an update from the University of Melbourne about the development of their new design and engineering campus in Fishermans Bend.
We will also have representatives of the Fishermans Bend Business Forum and FB IDEAs – two independent organisations working hard on the ground today to drive innovation, build momentum, seed activation and support existing businesses within Fishermans Bend.
Key Details:
The event will be hosted at CBCo, an incredible brewery in the heart of Fishermans Bend. Light refreshments and nibbles will be provided, with accommodations for most dietary requirements.
Kicking off at 4pm with networking opportunities, brief presentations will be shared, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. The event will officially close at 6pm.
For those who are interested, a special tour of CBCo’s facilities will be provided after the event from 6pm – 7pm.
