Develop Quantum Literacy at the Global Quantum Game Jam in Fishermans Bend
To get a head start on the United Nations’ International Year of Quantum Science and Technology in 2025, FB IDEAs is supporting an exciting event in collaboration with Eigensystems and SAE University College Melbourne - the International Quantum Game Jam!
Held for the first time in Fishermans Bend, the Global Quantum Game Jam is part of an international event organised by the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Finland.
It is designed to introduce quantum concepts in a fun and accessible way. Participants will have the chance to collaborate on creating games that incorporate quantum mechanics, allowing you to explore the mysterious world of quantum physics through play. If you're curious about quantum science but have little or no background in the field, this is the perfect opportunity to dive in!

One of the highlights of the event will be the introduction of the Quokka, a low-cost, 30-qubit quantum computing system developed by Eigensystems. The Quokka is designed specifically for education and enhancing quantum literacy. With its easy-to-use platform, you can experiment with quantum algorithms and learn how quantum technology is poised to transform our future.
Eigensystems co-founder Chris Ferrie, a notable quantum educator and best selling author, will be on hand to guide participants through the basics of quantum computing and demonstrate how the Quokka can be used to build your understanding of this cutting-edge field. Whether you're a student, an educator, or simply curious about quantum science, this event is your gateway to discovering the exciting world of quantum technology.
