Quokka Celebrates a New Era in Quantum Education at 2024 Good Design Awards
We’re excited to congratulate Quokka Quantum, developed by Eigensystems, on its recent recognition at the 2024 Australian Good Design Awards. Quokka is a personal quantum computing emulator designed to provide an innovative and accessible entry into the world of quantum technology, preparing future generations for the quantum revolution.
On September 20th, Eigensystems Co-founder Chris Ferrie, alongside partners from 4Design, accepted the award in Sydney in the Medical and Scientific category. This prestigious recognition highlights Quokka’s potential to reshape quantum education, making a complex field more approachable for all.
It’s been a busy and exciting time for Quokka. In addition to this award, the team celebrated a significant milestone by shipping their first 100 Quokkas to destinations worldwide, including Brazil, India, Europe, Asia, and even unique locations like the "North Pole" and "Armed Forces Pacific." On September 16th, Chris Ferrie also addressed an engaged audience at our CTO & CIO Forum, held at the FB IDEAs Hub, where he spoke on the future of quantum technology.
FB IDEAs is proud to partner with Eigensystems and recently supported them in hosting the Australian node of the International Game Jam at Fishermans Bend. This event, part of the Global Quantum Game Jam organized by the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Finland, saw record participation from Australian game developers.
