No Bull Cause is a clothing brand that makes no new clothes. Led by Felix Toohey, they take the clothes people don’t want and turn them into something they do by fixing, dying, printing and rebranding garments.
Fashion waste is a big problem, people buy 60% more clothes than they did 15 years ago but wear each item 50% less before it no longer holds value to them. The fashion industry is the third biggest polluter in the world, behind fuel/gas and agriculture. We clearly don’t need to be buying and making more clothes, but people still want to express themselves through fashion and that’s unlikely going to change.
As one of our Innovators in Residence at the Fishermans Bend Circular Design Cluster No Bull Cause will collaborate with the team from After to source unwearable garments from their collections, then upcycle them onsite. He will also setup a regular pop up retail space, and run a series of workshops and “think/make tanks” to build community awareness about the issues of fashion waste whilst showing that Fishermans Bend can be a hub for ideas and sustainable growth.
“There’s enough clothes out there, but people need to start wearing them. I want to make Sustainable self expression a No Bull Cause.”
