The Fishermans Bend Circular Design Cluster brings a range of innovators and creative practitioners working on circular economy initiatives together to imagine, incubate, experiment, collaborate and showcase new design approaches. We aim to show the future vision for Fishermans Bend in action - by creating a thriving collaborative community that demonstrates innovative approaches to environmental sustainability, liveability, connectivity, diversity and innovation.

In partnership with Gamuda Land Australia, we’ll transform an empty warehouse space located behind Gamuda Land’s ‘The Canopy’ display suite into a thriving creative hub of activity. Alongside the day to day activities of our Innovators in Residence, there will also be a regular program of public and industry facing events showcasing innovative design solutions and upcycling to create products and services that are circular by nature.

Sign up to our Mailing List to find out more about upcoming events and ways to get involved.

More about The Canopy

This site activation is aligned to the sustainability ethos that underpins Gamuda’s Canopy residential development which is currently under construction nearby, and demonstrates how FB IDEAs are working in partnership with private land users in Fishermans Bend.

Gamuda Land Australia have sustainabilty and community front and centre in their projects and ‘The Canopy’ is no exception.  Guided by biophilic principles, and designed by Hayball and Oculus, The Canopy aims to set a new standard for authentic, meaningful sustainability.  Opening in 2026, this mixed-use community in South Melbourne will include a dense urban forest, captivating green spine and inviting rooftop garden along with many other sustainability focused initiatives.
